Here we'll be sharing information about our upcoming trip, schedule and access details for the celebration, the eventual photos, and any other relevant tidbits about this beautiful adventure.

For now, we just want to share some details about our itinerary, to help us all coordinate! Here's the gist of it:

We'll be landing in Tokyo on October 4th;
The celebration itself will be in Nara, on the 13th;
We'd love to visit Kyoto with everyone the following week;
We'll be back in Tokyo on the 23rd, and leaving on the 30th.

Mais pour l'instant, nous voulons juste partager notre itinéraire pour faciliter notre coordination à tou·tes ! Voici un résumé :

Overview
Here are our main stops:
- Oct 4^th — 6^th: Tokyo
- Oct 6^th — 8^th: Osaka
- Oct 8^th — 11^th: Hiroshima (via Kurashiki)
- Oct 11^th — 14^th: Nara (our celebration!)
- Oct 14^th — 18^th: Kyoto
- Oct 18^th — 22^nd: Secret!
- Oct 22^nd — 30^th: Tokyo
Tokyo
We land in Tokyo on October 4^th, where we'll be staying a couple days to get our bearings and recover from jetlag. If we can already meet up with everyone there, that's even better!
Osaka
On the 6^th, we're travelling to Osaka, where we'll be spending two nights to enjoy its famous street food. We'll also go visit the World Expo which is being held there this year. If anyone's also planning to go, it could be a fun day together.
Kurashiki, then Hiroshima
We're stopping for one night in Kurashiki to see its beautiful canals. Then, on the 9^th, we're travelling to Hiroshima. We'll be staying on the Miyajima island on the 10^th, with family.
Nara
On the 11^th, we're travelling to Nara, where we'll get ready for the big day! The celebration is on the 13^th: we'll say our vows and take photos in a small garden, and then go to a beautiful restaurant to have a lovely, memorable time together in this historical city.

We'll probably be pretty busy before the 13^th, so don't feel like you have to be in Nara before then. Even for the celebration day, there are frequent trains between Nara and Kyoto (even late at night), so if you're staying there, you could do a day trip.
Kyoto
After Nara, we're moving to Kyoto where we'll be staying four nights from the 14^th to the 18^th. This is the main city where we're hoping to get to spend time with all of our friends and family! There are so many beautiful temples, cute alleyways, and other sightseeing spots in Kyoto that we're sure it'll be an amazing time.
Secret getaway
Over the following four days, from the 18^th to the 22^nd, we'll be travelling just the two of us, stopping in various towns on our way back to Tokyo. Shhh!
Tokyo
From the 22^nd, we're staying in Tokyo until the end of our trip. We'll get plenty of time to explore Shibuya, Akihabara, et cetera... as well as visit the Ghibli museum (if we can nab tickets). Here also, if anyone happens to be in the area before their flight home, we'd love to hang out more!

We'll most likely spend a night in Nikko at some point after the 26^th, and finally head to the airport on the 30^th.

Tokyo
Nous aterrissons à Tokyo le 4 octobre. Nous y resterons quelques jours pour récupérer du voyage et du décalage horaire. Si l'on peut déjà y retrouver des gens, c'est encore mieux !
Osaka
Le 6 octobre, nous partons pour Osaka, où nous passerons deux nuits. Nous savourerons sa fameuse street food, et visiterons également l'Exposition Universelle qui a lieu là-bas cette année. Ce serait un plaisir d'y passer une journée avec tou·tes celle·eux qui ont aussi prévu d'y faire un tour.
Kurashiki, puis Hiroshima
Nous faisons un arrêt le 8 à Kurashiki pour nous promener le long des canaux, puis le 9 continuons jusqu'à Hiroshima où nous resterons deux jours. Nous passerons la nuit du 10 sur l'île de Miyajima, avec notre famille.
Nara
Le 11, direction Nara pour la préparation au grand jour ! La célébration du mariage a lieu le 13 : nous échangerons nos vœux et prendrons des photos dans un jardin privé, puis irons dîner avec tout le monde dans un beau restaurant. Parfait pour immortaliser ce moment passé ensemble dans cette ville historique.

Nous serons probablement pas mal débordés avant le 13, donc ne vous sentez pas obligé·es d'être sur place avant. Et même pour le jour de la célébration, il y a des trains fréquents entre Nara et Kyoto (jusque tard le soir), donc il serait possible de dormir à Kyoto et de nous retrouver juste pour la journée.
Kyoto
Après Nara, nous nous dirigerons vers Kyoto, où nous restons quatre nuits du 14 au 18. C'est ici que nous espérons pouvoir passer le plus de temps avec nos familles et ami·es ! Il y a tant de temples magnifiques, de petites allées charmantes, et d'autres points d'intérêt que cela sera sans aucun doute fantastique.
Escapade secrète
Durant les quatre jours suivants, du 18 au 22, nous voyageons en amoureux, nous arrêtant dans plusieurs petites villes sur le chemin du retour vers Tokyo. Chuuut!
Tokyo
À partir du 22 octobre et jusqu'à la fin de notre séjour, nous sommes à Tokyo. Cela nous donnera plein de temps pour explorer Shibuya, Akihabara, et cetera... et également pour visiter le musée Ghibli (si nous pouvoir avoir des billets). Là aussi, on adorera profiter encore un peu plus de toutes les personnes qui seront dans le coin avant leur vol du retour !

Nous ferons sûrement une excursion d'un jour et une nuit à Nikko après le 26, puis enfin retournerons à l'aéroport le 30.

Questions

How many people will be present at the celebration?: We're likely to be between 20 and 25 people. Everyone is invited to the restaurant; we're still waiting to finalize some details with the garden to see who can join us there in the afternoon.
What's the dress code?: Whatever makes you feel beautiful! On the 13th, we will be wearing modern Western-style wedding attire – not traditional Japanese kimonos or headpieces.
What style of restaurant should we expect?: We're looking at haute cuisine restaurants, or potentially a fancy izakaya-type restaurant. Dinner is on us.
Are gifts expected?: Absolutely not. Your presence is an amazing gift and we wish for nothing more!
Can we bring children and plus-ones?: Yes, please just let us know in advance.
Do you recommend any travel agency to help planning the trip?: It's totally up to you, but we're working with two: Au Fil du Japon for the trip itinerary and visits, and Japan Travel Pros for the celebration day. If you contact either and mention us, they'll know who we are!

Y a-t-il des attentes particulières pour les cadeaux ?: Absolument pas. Votre présence elle-même est un superbe cadeau et nous ne souhaitons rien de plus !
Est-il possible de venir avec des enfants ou plus-uns?: Oui, simplement nous en informer en avance svp.
Recommendez-vous des agences de voyage pour aider à la plannification ?: C'est comme vous le sentez ! Nous faisons affaire avec deux agences : Au Fil du Japon pour l'itinéraire et les visites, et Japan Travel Pros pour l'organisation de la célébration.
